SUMMARY:Sleeping Beauty Ballet
DESCRIPTION:First staged by the company in 1966\, this production has become a cornerstone of the South Carolina Ballet’s classical repertoire. Reimagined in 1996 by Artistic Director William Starrett\, this performance honors the technical brilliance and elegance of Marius Petipa’s original choreography while infusing it with fresh\, dramatic energy. Set to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score\, the production is celebrated for its grand scale\, emphasizing Starrett’s staging of the visually vibrant fairytale. Sleeping Beauty features a world-class international cast\, meticulous attention to detail\, exclusive costumes\, and hand-painted sets. Despite being one of the company’s most enduring works\, this production makes it accessible for modern audiences without losing its 19th century Russian Imperial grandeur.  \nThe Alan Jay Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts \nTickets: $60 – $55 – $50 – $45 plus a $3.00 per ticket processing fee.
